The Rite

During our school cinema trip to watch The Rite -(directed by Mikael Håfström, written by Michael Petroni and Matt Baglio)- I came across many links and similarities to our film opening. 
Unfortunately, I was sandwiched between Mollie and Millie - who were both screaming and swearing at every scene...
The film revolved around religion - a huge similarity to our opening - I especially picked up on the font used for the credits(similar to the one used on the title) with the religious cross.
Demonic possession and exorcism were the key themes of this film and it contained many explicit, particularly distressing scenes. Unlike our opening/film, which would be implied.
Close up shots used in very dark lighting were especially significant in this film, as it focused on horrifying the audience. I also noticed there was a frequent number of flashbacks used in this film - similar to our opening, they were particularly effective, when showing the boy at a younger age about how his views and beliefs had changed since.
